DRAMA TEACHER Job Description (China)
Nansha is a young city in Guangzhou which is growing very quickly. It is an hour away from Hong Kong and has many western influences. Theatresaurus are in collaboration a Kindergarten and primary school providing drama lessons for young people. As it is a new venture, a relaxed and flexible attitude is needed to be able to adapt to any challenges.
We are looking for someone to run drama clubs for students from three years old, The students will have a varying level of English and you would often work with a translator.
You must have a degree and teaching expierience and a passion for working with young children.
There is in-school teaching and drama clubs. There are also presentations and taster sessions to help promote the courses as well as providing advice and guidance to parents.
The expectation is for a maximum of six working days a week with 3 hour breaks in the middle of each day
The drama clubs are designed to give students confidence in speaking English. They should be fun and encourage independent learning and expression. Each term the sessions should work towards a small public performance for parents
All teaching will be active, and while students may struggle with this aspect initially, the overall aim is to build confidence in performing and speaking whilst having fun and enjoying the programme.
All resources will be supplied
The pay is £2000 per month plus accommodation. Return flights and Visa will also be paid for.
We are looking for two teachers to go out in September and stay for one year. There will be holidays over Chinese new year and at the end of the year as well as numerous bank holidays.
